For more than a decade, Tricia specialized in technology (tech) transfer. This segment of her profession commenced from Cornell University, then National University of Singapore (NUS) and the most recent City University of Hong Kong (CityU). Her tech transfer experience includes traditional intellectual property (IP: copyright, patent, knowhow, trade secrets, etc.) licensing, sealing an average of 100 IP licenses annually. Through a team of licensing managers at tech transfer also occurred through thematically focused ecosystems with pilot-scale facilities (E.g., Start Center at the Singapore CleanTech Park) and institution-industry consortiums for problem-solution translational technology research and development involving industry to propagate adoption of new technology from public sector researchinstitutes. Separately, through entrepreneurship for technology startups, Tricia also saw ~50 new ventures championing university deep‐tech IPs within 15 months from an inaugural program adding to the average ~20 spin‐offs by faculty members within NUS.
At CityU, in addition to building industry collaborations, Tricia also contributed to the launch of the CityU’s entrepreneurship program, HK Tech 300.
Another segment of Tricia’s professional experience are the years in patent practicing in New York and Singapore working with inventors from small medium enterprises (SMEs) to multinational companies (MNCs) of various industry sectors.
These 2 aspects of her work experiences come together to enable businesses to transform and be more competitive.
